Travelling Film Festival Mackay

The Travelling Film Festival is returning to Mackay! We are thrilled to bring only the world's best cinema to BCC Mackay at exclusive screenings!

Opening the festival is new Australian drama and winner of the Sundance Audience Award 2023, Shayda. From executive producer Cate Blanchett, this engrossing story follows Iranian migrant Shaya (Cannes Best Actress winner Zar Amir Ebrahimi) on her journey to provide a new life and safety for her and her daughter.

Another Festival champion not to be missed is Cannes Palme d'Or 2023 winner, Anatomy of a Fall. This taut courtroom drama stars the phenomenal Sandra Hüller (Toni Erdmann) as a woman accused of murdering her husband.

Other highlights of the program include the inspiring Japan-set Perfect Days from legendary director Wim Wenders, and romance has never been more deadpan hilarious than in Fallen Leaves which was just declared the best film of the year from the International Film Critics Federation. And more!
