Getting to the Mackay Isaac Region is easier than you might think—and once you’ve arrived, you’ll find plenty of ways to explore it at your own pace.

Whether you're flying in for a long weekend, arriving by rail for a relaxing escape, or driving in as part of an epic Queensland road trip, the journey is all part of the adventure. Mackay Isaac is well connected, with major transport options providing convenient access to the region’s coastal hubs, rural heartlands and rugged inland frontiers.

Daily flights from Brisbane, Rockhampton and Townsville arrive at the Mackay Airport, while train services along the North Coast Line link the region to Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and beyond. Travelling by car or RV? The Bruce Highway runs right through the region, connecting you to towns, beaches and national parks along the way.

And once you’re here, getting around is easy. Hire a car to create your own itinerary, join a guided tour, or make use of local transfer services to get from place to place. RV travellers will find plenty of friendly stops, dump points and water refill stations throughout the region to make life on the road easy and enjoyable.
