Local Buying Foundation will fund the two-year recruitment of a Tourism Development Officer to be based in the Isaac Region. The role will entail the development and marketing of tourism businesses, destinations, and products specifically within Isaac.

Local Buying Foundation Chair, Melissa Westcott said Mackay Tourism and Isaac Regional Council are important partners in growing Isaac’s economy.

“A 2019 Tourism and Events Queensland Social Indicators study reported 82 per cent of respondents across the Isaac and Mackay regions wanted to see more tourism development, and the Local Buying Foundation is proud to partner with Mackay Tourism in securing this tourism development for our community.”

Chief Executive Officer of Mackay Tourism Tas Webber, thanked the Local Buying Foundation for their support.
