About the program
The training takes around 1.5 to 2 hours in total, which can be completed across multiple sessions. It includes 5 modules covering:
- world-class hosting principles
- accessibility and inclusion
- storytelling and regional knowledge
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and environmental sustainability
- local experiences and tourism products.
How to complete the training
1. Online
- Sign up on the Queensland Welcomes You training portal.
- Choose your region and complete the modules and feedback survey.
- Download your certificate and share it with your team.
2. Face-to-Face Training Workshop
- In addition to the online program, the content can also be delivered in an in-person Workshop format.
- This option reinforces key concepts, builds team culture and provides space for practical discussion.
