Mackay Scottish Bluewater Fling

This year's Bluewater Fling is bigger and better than ever, celebrating 100 years of community service. The Mackay and District Pipe Band's 10th annual Fling promises to be a fantastic day of family entertainment. 100 pipers and drummers from around Queensland will march across the Forgan Bridge including special guests the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums.

Set on the banks of the beautiful blue Pioneer River, entertainment will continue on the River Stage until dusk when the event will transform into the Fling Afterparty Ceilidh finishing with a spectacular fireworks display. Visitors can bring a picnic blanket or fold up chair and enjoy Scottish inspired crafted brews and food from Red Dog Brewery on the Riverfront. A selection of food vendors will also be onsite and St Kilda Retail will be offering a huge selection of Scottish wares including bagpipe and drum supplies, Clan badges and tartan merchandise.

Visitors to the Region are very welcome to attend. Immerse in the Bluewater Fling and celebrate Mackay's Scottish heritage. Mackay's Scottish Bluewater Fling is a free, outdoor, family-friendly community event showcasing local and visiting performers, including pipe bands, highland dancers, singers, and BagRock band Piping MaD. The Mackay Scottish Bluewater Fling is part of the Mackay Festival of Arts and is proudly sponsored by the Mackay Regional Council.
