Mackay Tourism is going places with mobile Visitor Info Centre and event support
Mackay Tourism Ltd is hitting the road to reach more people with its newly launched mobile Visitor Information Centre.
The colourful mobile trailer, which has some of The Mackay Region’s most iconic locations and animals painted on the outside, has a large number of brochures and information guides which will be given out free to visitors and locals.
Mackay Tourism is also providing stronger support for events that happen in The Mackay Region. The organisation has launched a suite of Mackay Region branded collateral, which includes teardrop banners, a media board and large heavy-duty signage boards. These are available free of charge for event organisers to use as a way to encourage re-visitation and recognition of the brand amongst new people in the region.
Additionally, the Mackay Tourism website has a new ‘event toolkit’ section which includes a 2017 Events Calendar, Industry Resources for Event Organisers, pre and post event itineraries, research and insights and lots more.
General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Tas Webber, said it was important to ensure visitors were well looked after when they visited The Mackay Region for different events throughout the year.
“We have some really exciting events that are unique to The Mackay Region, and we want to make sure our visitors have a great time and come back the following year or tell their friends what’s on offer in The Mackay Region,” Mr Webber said.
“Providing extra support to event organisers before, during and after an event can make all the difference in ensuring we get people to stay in the region longer, and to come back.”
“We are hoping to have our mobile VIC available at some of the bigger events throughout the year, to provide information on other things to do in The Mackay Region.”
