School Holidays the Perfect Time to Explore 101 Things

With families around our region now enjoying the mid-year holidays, it’s a great opportunity to get out and tick off activities in the 101 Things to Do in The Mackay Region list.

Tas Webber, General Manager of Mackay Tourism, says there are plenty of activities on the list that are perfect for families, such as platypus viewing at Eungella and visiting our many beaches.

“We are lucky to have such incredible beaches in our region, and as they’re a free activity, visiting our beaches is great for families who are conscious of their budget.

“Eungella is also beautiful at this time of year, and the later sunrises and sunsets make it even easier for families to view the platypus at Broken River,” Mr Webber says.

There’s only one week left until the 101 Things competition closes, which means there is still time to explore our region and enter.

Mr. Webber says it’s really easy to enter the competition. “All you need to do is visit or participate in any of the locations or activities on the 101 Things list, then upload your photo to our website and you’re in the running to win.”

One lucky entrant will receive the Explore Mackay prize pack, which includes a family weekend getaway at Broken River Mountain Resort for two nights, a family pass for a Forest Flying adventure, and a $50 café voucher to use at Platypus Lodge Restaurant and Café.

Entries for the 101 Things to Do in The Mackay Region competition closeSunday, 14 July 2019. Entries can be uploaded to www.mackayregion.com/101things. Terms and conditions are also available on the website.
