Quiet and contemplative, the St Lawrence Cemetery offers a deeply moving connection to the town's past. Established in the mid-1800s, the St Lawrence Cemetery is a historically significant site with graves dating back to the town's founding as Queensland's northernmost port in the 1860s, serving mining and coastal trade.

Many unmarked graves reflect early settler hardships, including from diseases and accidents. A memorial wall honors lost graves from the 1860s onward, added in 2021 by the local council to commemorate pioneers. It's an active cemetery managed by Isaac Regional Council, catering for lawn/monument burials and ashes.

While not all graves are marked, a detailed register is available through the Council office and library, allowing visitors to uncover personal stories and trace the town's history through generations. A visit here provides a moment of reflection and a deeper appreciation for the resilience and lives of those who came before.
