Sub-committee to drive Mechanos success in 2018

Passionate event organisers and volunteers are being recruited for a Mechanos sub-committee, to ensure the longevity and success of the event in future years.

The mechanical technologies event, which focuses on technologies past, present and future, brings together aerobatics, plane displays, aviation, custom cars and bikes, entertainment, food and everything in between to deliver Mackay’s largest ticketed family event.

Now being presented as a biennial event, Mechanos looks to drive economic impact from around the State into Mackay with an ever-growing lineup of activities and entertainment, whilst providing a world-class event for the Mackay community.

As part of the Mackay Festivals and Events Committee, it was identified that a sub-committee be formed to drive the not-for-profit venture to greater heights into the future and that the right people be engaged to ensure that this takes place.

Mackay Festivals and Events Committee President Rob Porter said the success of the event relied on passionate people who could help with all aspects of the event.

Mr Porter said the committee were looking for people with a background or interest in relevant elements of the event, or with event management experience to join the sub-committee and be willing to commit for the long haul.
