Mackay Choral Society and the MECC presents Exchange for Peace

This December, Mackay will become the stage for an extraordinary international collaboration: Exchange for Peace.

In the first musical collaboration between the Mackay Choral Society and Bentley Music Academy and performed at the MECC, this project brings together Australian and Malaysian orchestral musicians, choral societies and children's choirs, performing under the baton of international conductor Kevin Field.

After a successful season of performances in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, audiences will be moved by Karl Jenkins' powerful masterwork The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace*, alongside the world premiere of a new international commission created by four composers from across the globe.

This cultural exchange honours those who serve to protect us in challenging times and pays tribute to those who did not return home. With performers spanning continents and generations, Exchange for Peace will be both a landmark artistic achievement and a profound statement of unity.
