Tickets on Sale for Tourism's Night of Nights

Tickets are on now sale for the 2018 Mackay Region Tourism Awards. Locally regarded as tourism’s night of nights, The Mackay Region Tourism Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of the regions' tourism industry, including individuals, tourism operators and events.

The Awards are a submission and inspection based program and provide the opportunity to publicly acknowledge and showcase our finest tourism operators. The Awards cover 17 categories ranging from attractions, events, tour and transport, accommodation, restaurants and more.

To match the beauty and grandeur of the region being celebrated, the Mackay Region Tourism Awards are to be held at the Windmill Motel and Events Centre, from 6:00pm on Friday, 5 October.

Nominations are still being taken, so if you’re an individual, tourism operator or event that has made a meaningful contribution to tourism in The Mackay Region, time is still left to nominate. Sponsorship opportunities for the awards are also available. Information is available from Mackay Tourism.

Preceding the awards will be The Mackay Region Tourism Conference, taking place on 4 October, also at the Windmill Motel and Events Centre. Details and ticketing information is still to come, for what promises to be a not to be missed conference.

General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Tas Webber, expressed the importance of recognising the outstanding achievements of the regions tourism industry.

“With record growth in visitation, it has been a stellar year for tourism in The Mackay Region”.

“As a result, The Mackay Region Tourism Awards promises to be an equally stellar event that will showcase those who have contributed to driving the growth of tourism in our region” said Mr Webber.

Tickets for The Mackay Region Tourism Awards are available at and can purchased from the Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre on (07) 4837 1228.
