Tourism Support Continues
Mackay Airport is pleased to announce it has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mackay Tourism Limited which will see its strong support for the promotion of the region as a tourism destination continue over the next year.
Mackay Airport General Manager, Rob Porter, and Mackay Tourism Limited General Manager, Tas Webber, officially signed the MOU today forging the long term partnership between the two organisations for another year.
“Developing the Mackay region’s tourism offer and promoting it to the rest of Queensland, Australia and beyond has never been more important,” Mr Porter said.
“The Mackay Region has so much to offer visitors with hidden natural treasures and so much to see and do as captured in the successful 101 Things to do in the Mackay Region campaign that has been rolled out over the past couple of years.”
“We are also seeing more visitors coming here to be part of the region’s growing number of major events such as Mechanos Wings and Wheels, the Mackay Airport Beach Horse Racing Festival and this weekend’s North Jacklin Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mackay.”
“Mackay Airport is proud to support Mackay Tourism Limited and our tourism industry in their efforts to grow this important sector of our regional economy.”
Mackay Tourism Ltd General Manager, Tas Webber, said the MOU will enable stronger collaboration within the tourism industry.
“This important partnership enables us to work with Mackay Airport to promote The Mackay Region’s ‘hero experiences’ that visitors won’t find anywhere else in the world,” Mr Webber said.
“With the support of Mackay Airport, we are looking forward to seeing positive growth within the tourism industry in The Mackay Region."
