Visitor Centre offers National Park permits

Planning on camping these summer holidays?

The Mackay Visitor Information Centre now offers an over-the-counter booking service for those wanting to get a National Park permit.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) offers free entry to all national parks but permits are required for a range of activities, including camping. QPWS operates a permit system to manage activities within Parks.

You can also apply for a permit online at https://qpws.usedirect.com/qpws/

The Mackay Visitor Information Centre can also help plan and book holidays outside The Mackay Region, as well as provide local knowledge and bookings on the best things to see and do locally.

The Centre has a wide range of Mackay-branded merchandise, local produce, artwork, jewellery, woodwork and much more in stock, which would work great as Christmas gifts for loved ones.

The Mackay Visitor Information Centre is open seven days.

Monday – Friday      9am to 5pm

Saturday                    9am to 3pm

Sunday                       9am to 1pm

It will close for the public holidays; Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
